Description
This set of ash glazed (haiyū) green tea cups by Wada Hiroaki was wood-fired at Ōizumi-gama - the Wada family's noborigama climbing kiln. Inside the kiln at a temperature of 1,250°C (2,300°F) degrees, it was blasted with wave after wave of red pine and cedar embers. The resulting yōhen effects, like heat-change gradations and flashes of pink, are unique to each piece.
For hot or cold green tea.
