Description
This charming set of green tea cups by Wada Hiroaki was wood-fired at Ōizumi-gama - the Wada family's noborigama climbing kiln. Inside the kiln at a temperature of 1,250°C (2,300°F) degrees, it was blasted with wave after wave of red pine and cedar embers. The resulting yōhen effects include a lustrous natural glaze, subtle orange flashes where the clay was permanently heat changed, and small feldspar pebbles which, when super heated, burst through their earthen bed.
For hot or cold green tea, the set promises to become a couple's favorite.
