Description

This attractive saké cup is done in nezumi (literally "mouse") shino and accented with bold, fluid brushwork.  While cooling in the kiln, pinholes and crackles form as the glaze shrinks tightly around the body of mogusa clay.  Its textured landscape welcomes exploration before every sip.

A gem for any saké connoisseur's collection.

Suzuki Tomio's shino pottery is held in private collections around the world and, in 2011, was acquired by the Philadelphia Museum of Art for display in their East Asian Art collection.
