This elegant vase by Kosei Tamaya is done in a copper-based glaze called shinsha-yu, or literally "cinnabar glaze", and its color is as deep as the momiji leaves that cover Japan's mountainsides in autumn.  Deftly formed with a slender crane's neck, it is intended for the display of one solitary flower - traditionally in the alcove of a tea ceremony room.

Iron content in the glaze forms iridescent spots around the bulb shaped base, and hints of spectral colors can be seen at certain angles.

A striking centerpiece for any room.

A wooden presentation box will be custom made to order and signed by the artist.  Delivery time for this item is 2 weeks.
