One of the most outstanding features of any of Mr. Suzuki's shino creations is the provocative textures they possess, and this sake cup is no exception.  It is done in nezumi shino, or "mouse shino", as denoted by its soft grey color.  While cooling in the kiln, pinholes and crackles form as the glaze shrinks tightly around the body of mogusa clay.  Lavish applications of feldspar further add to the textured landscape of this captivating piece.

See Tomio Suzuki's Hanshin Gallery exhibition for more from his 2007 collection.
