Tozan Wada is an accomplished artist with over 30 years of experience producing fine ceramics for tea ceremony.  He excels in Kyoyaki (Kyoto ware) enamel overglazed pottery and porcelain, and his works are renown for their floral motifs and traditional patterns rendered with impeccable detail and precision.

This spirited tea ceremony bowl is a proud example of Tozan Wada's masterful enamelwork.  The body is a mixture of porcelain and clay (hanjiki) with a silver-rich base.  Waves of swirling monochrome enamels crisscross the bowl playfully in an ode to rivers and oceans.

The bowl is formed to precision and balances perfectly upon its footring.  It exudes the refined elegance that lives up to its Kyoyaki appellation.

See Hiroaki Wada & Tozan Wada's Daimaru Gallery Exhibition pictorial for works from their 2006 collection.

A wooden presentation box will be custom made to order and signed by the artist.  Delivery time for this item is 2 weeks.

A fukusa (display cloth) is included.
