Through constant experimentation, Kamada Koji has elevated
tenmoku, a technique originating in China during the Song dynasty, to
an even higher level of refinement with the introduction of several
signature glazes, each one adding another facet to the incredible
diversity of his art.
This striking collection of plates is done in Mr. Kamada's signature ginsho
tenmoku. Two slight variations of the iron-saturated glaze
create a contemporary, bi-chromatic effect (called kaké-waké) that is half brushed silver and half
metallic blue. Golden highlights around the rim add a sense of
refined luxury.
Both beautiful and functional, the set promises to attract quite a
lot of attention and admiration from honored guests. It is ideally
suited for serving side
dishes and desserts.

Kamada Kōji's
40th Year Commemorative Exhibition for more works from his 2008
