Through constant experimentation and refinement, Koji Kamada has produced a number of outstanding glazes over the years, each one further adding to the breadth and brilliance of his tenmoku artistry.

This striking sake flask is done in Mr. Kamada's signature ginsho tenmoku glaze.  The high iron content gives the piece a unique brushed metal-like finish whose true character always seems to be in flux: sometimes silvery blue, sometimes brown, and other times black.  Golden highlights around the rim and low-relief lines (tsuisen) add a sense of luxury and refinement.

The ideal acquisition for any sake connoisseur.

See Koji Kamada's Kyoto Takashimaya exhibition for more works from his recent collection.
