In recent years in Japan, spirits distilled from barley, sweet potatoes, or sesame, called sho-chu in Japanese, have gained enormous popularity among drinkers.  Keeping abreast of this growing trend, Koji Kamada introduces this distinctive rocks glass, done in his signature ginsho tenmoku.

The high iron content gives the piece a unique brushed metal-like finish whose true character always seems to be in flux: sometimes silvery blue, sometimes brown, and other times black.  Golden highlights around the rim and low-relief lines (tsuisen) add a sense of luxury and refinement.

For sho-chu, whiskey, or any beverage on the rocks.

See Koji Kamada's 40th Year Commemorative Exhibition for more works from his 2008 collection.
