Through constant experimentation, Koji Kamada has elevated tenmoku, a technique originating in China during the Song dynasty, to an even higher level of refinement with the introduction of several signature glazes, each one adding another facet to the incredible diversity of his artistry.

This collection of plates is done in Mr. Kamada's signature ginsho tenmoku.  Two slight variations of this iron-saturated glaze create a contemporary, bi-chromatic effect that is half brushed silver and half metallic blue.  Beautiful as well a functional, it promises to attract quite a lot of attention from guests.

See Koji Kamada's Takashimaya Exhibition Pictorial for more from his 2007 collection.
