Tenmoku ceramist Koji Kamada held a
week-long exhibition of his works at
Gallery Dojima - the first time at this relatively new gallery
located in Osaka's Temmabashi area.
Attendants were welcomed by a stunning array of large tenmoku vases in a
variety of glazes. On the opposite side of the gallery, tea
ceremony bowls captivated viewers with their radiant light. One
piece in particular, a handsome ginsho tenmoku fresh water jar,
commanded quite a lot of attention. Sake flasks & cups dazzled the
small crowd of collectors, aspiring ceramists, and curious passersby.
Though smaller than his usual department store
gallery showings, the nearly 70 pieces on display effectively portrayed
the breadth of Koji Kamada's artistry.
